We invite you to have an examination and pre-surgical bloodwork completed with your own veterinarian prior to your pet's surgery day.
While this is not mandatory, a
pre-surgical exam and testing does provide insight into your pet's health which helps to reduce anesthetic and surgical risks.
Pre-surgical bloodwork cannot be performed at the Ottawa Valley Spay Neuter Clinic.

Please do not feed your pet after 8pm the night before surgery.
Water may be available until 1 hour before your departure for the clinic.
**If your pet is less than 10 weeks old or under 5 lb,
please contact the clinic for special feeding instructions.

Cats must be contained in a secure, comfortable carrier appropriate for their size. Cats frequently feel more secure in hard plastic carriers vs. soft sided.
One cat per carrier please.
Dogs must have a collar and leash to transport to and from the clinic.
DROP OFF TIME IS INCLUDED IN YOUR BOOKING. PLEASE ARRIVE AT YOUR SPECIFIC DROP OFF TIME.

Prepare a quiet, comfortable space at home for your pet to recover.
Recovery period is 10-14 days.
Dogs are recommended to stay ON LEASH when outside and medication is available to help if needed, just ask!
Active cats can benefit from a set up in a large dog kennel when unsupervised during recovery.
